A table is an item made of furniture comprising an open, flat surface supported by a base or legs. It may be used to hold articles consisting of food or papers at a convenient or comfortable height when sitting, and is therefore often used in conjunction with chairs. A table specifically intended for writing purposes and office work is a desk, which may incorporate one or more drawers in the base. They can be made of timber wood, cardboard,
plastic, metal, glass or basically any solid material.
